Decibel monitor
Free browser decibel monitor for noise logs
Anti Noise Assistant runs in your browser and shows dB-like changes from your microphone. It is useful for spotting noise patterns and adding consistent reference readings to a neighbor or apartment noise log.
What the monitor is good for
- Comparing quiet periods with noisy periods in the same room.
- Watching whether noise crosses a chosen threshold.
- Taking screenshots for a timeline of repeated incidents.
- Documenting apartment, dorm, hotel, office, or shared-wall noise.
Important limitations
Browser and phone microphone readings are not the same as certified sound level meter measurements. Hardware, browser processing, microphone placement, and room acoustics can change the result. Use the reading as a practical reference for your own log, not as a certified measurement.
How to get more consistent readings
- Keep the device in the same location and orientation.
- Close windows and doors if that matches your normal complaint situation.
- Write down what else was happening in the room.
- Compare readings over time instead of relying on a single peak.
- Combine readings with a written noise log.
